​ 🇮🇹 Quest' estate ho deciso di tornare in questo posto magico dove ero stato per la prima volta quattro anni fa', un' isola ricca di Big Bass e piena di invasi e fiumi con enormi popolazioni di questo pesce.

🇬🇧 This summer I decided to return to this magical place where I had been for the first time four years ago, an island rich in Big Bass and full of reservoirs and rivers with huge populations of this fish.

🇮🇹 Diversi sono i motivi per cui negli anni quest' isola è diventata una meta ambita da molti pescatori di bass provenienti dalla penisola e non solo. Qui il bass ha pochi competitor, in moltissimi ambienti è addirittura quasi l' unico predatore, o comunque quello più in alto della catena alimentare; un' enorme quantità di foraggio (pesci di piccola o grande taglia, tra cui persici reali e agoni, e gamberi) fa si che riesca ad alimentarsi in maniera continuativa; il clima non è quasi mai troppo rigido, e la pressione di pesca è sicuramente minore. Grazie a questi fattori la popolazione di bass all' interno delle acque sarde (dighe, piccoli laghi o fiumi) è letteralmente esplosa negli anni.​

🇬🇧 There are several reasons why over the years this island has become a popular destination for bass anglers from the mainland and beyond. Here, bass have few competitors; in many environments, they are almost the only predator, or at least the highest on the food chain. A huge amount of forage (small and large fish, including perch and shad, and shrimp) allows them to feed continuously. The climate is almost never too cold, and fishing pressure is certainly lower. Thanks to these factors, the bass population in Sardinian waters (dams, small lakes, or rivers) has literally exploded over the years

​🇮🇹 Ho programmato il mio viaggio in 3 laghi differenti, distribuiti in 5 giorni di pesca.

Il primo lago è una diga artificiale di grandi dimensioni, con un' enorme varietà di spot, tra cui punte di rocce, piante sommerse, strutture cespugli e vegetazione sulla sponda. Con circa una ventina di catture al giorno, sono usciti anche alcuni pesci veramente di taglia. 

🇬🇧 I planned my trip on three different lakes, spread out over five days of fishing. 

The first lake is a large artificial dam, with a huge variety of spots, including rocky points, submerged plants, structures, bushes, and bank vegetation. With about twenty catches per day, some really big fish also have been caught.

🇮🇹 Il secondo lago, tra i più conosciuti della Sardegna, su cui ho pescato un giorno, mi ha regalato un' enorme quantità di catture, principalmente di taglia medio piccola, con qualche minoranza di pesce sopra al chilo, pescando prevalentemente le punte di roccia anche in profondità importante.

🇬🇧 The second lake, among the best known in Sardinia, on which I fished one day, gave me an enormous quantity of catches, mainly of medium-small size, with a few fish over a kg, fishing mainly on rocky points even at considerable depths.

🇮🇹 Lasciato il secondo lago, ci dirigiamo verso l' ultima tappa, su cui avevo pescato maggiormente la scorsa volta che ero venuto in Sardegna; qui lo spot principale del lago sono le piante sommerse. Sapevo che avrei potuto trovare una situazione completamente diversa, e così è stato! Rispetto alla volta scorsa che era aprile, e la temperatura dell' acqua era intorno ai 14°, qui, anche se a metà giugno, causa le alte temperature, eravamo in una situazione estiva. La risposta del lago è stata subito ottima con un' enorme quantità di bass, super in forma, ma la difficoltà era proprio fare selezione sulla taglia. Ma fortunatamente il secondo giorno, con qualche aggiuntamento, ci siamo riusciti!

🇬🇧 Leaving the second lake, we headed to the last stop, where I had fished the most the last time I came to Sardinia; here the main spot on the lake is the submerged plants. I knew I could find a completely different situation, and so it was! Compared to last time, which was April, and the water temperature was around 14°C, here, even though it was mid-June, due to the high temperatures, we were in a summery situation. The lake's response was excellent right away, with a huge amount of bass, super fit, but the difficulty was precisely selecting the size. But fortunately, on the second day, with a few additions, we succeeded!

🇮🇹 Probabilmente le temperature eccessivamente calde, con picchi di 40° e passa gradi, in questa settimana non sono state favorevoli all' attività del bass, mediamente in tutti i laghi che abbiamo pescato, la temperatura superficiale dell' acqua passava da un minimo di 27° la mattina presto, per poi arrivare anche a 31° nelle ore centrali. Nonostante tutto quest' isola sa regalare sempre grandi emozioni a chi decide di visitarla! Se non ci siete mai stati è sicuramente un' esperienza che consiglio di fare a ogni bassman almeno una volta nella vita!

🇺🇸 The excessively warm temperatures this week, with pics about 104° F, probably weren't conducive to bass activity. On average, in all the lakes we fished, the surface water temperature ranged from a low of 27°C (80°F) in the early morning to as high as 31°C (88°F) in the middle of the day. Despite everything, this island always offers a thrill to those who decide to visit! If you've never been, it's definitely an experience I recommend every bass angler try at least once in their lifetime!
