Phase the Digger INSIGHT

L'Ever Green Digger,e' sicuramente una delle canne piu' iconiche e riuscite della seria Phase.

Anche se vi sembrera' strano,in alcune tecniche,in specifico per heavy texas e il jig,mi piace avere una canna con un manico decisamente importante,e soprattuotto non splittato e quello della Digger rispecchia perfettamente i miei canoni.

Questo mi permette di avere un'impugnatura piu' salda nella fase di lancio,e soprattutto in quella di ferrata,cosa fondamentale a mio avviso,in queste tipologie di canne heavy.

Nonostante sia una 3oz decisamente potente,possiede una punta molto dolce,che ci consente di lanciare anche inneschi non necessariamente pesanti,ma che quando messa sotto sforzo,mette a nudo tutta la sua intrinseca forza.

La Digger si adatta in maniera perfetta,sia alla pesca in heavy cover,sia a quella in open water,in particolare negli erbai molto fitti,dove abbiamo la necessita'di pentrare fino alla radice;io in questi casi non ci vado tanto per il sottile,usando genorosi fili di fluorocarbon intorno alle 20lb,e importanti ami da flipping.

Estrarre i pesci,all'interno di queste coperture,diventa tremendamente semplice,e grazie alla sua particolare azione,avremo l'assoluta sicurezza di non lacerare la bocca del pesce,cosa molto comune nelle canne di questa fascia.

Io l'ho usata esclusivamente a jig e heavy texas,dove credo dia il suo meglio,ma puo' essere impiegata anche con big bait e grossi spinner slow rolling.

The Ever Green Digger is certainly one of the most iconic and successful rods in the Phase series.

Although it may seem strange to you, in some techniques, specifically for heavy texas and jigs, I like to have a rod with a very important handle, and above all not split, and the Digger's perfectly reflects my standards.

This allows me to have a firmer grip when casting, and above all in the ferrata phase, which in my opinion is fundamental in these types of heavy rods.

Despite being a decidedly powerful 3oz, it has a very soft tip, which allows us to cast even baits that are not necessarily heavy, but which when put under stress, exposes all its intrinsic strength.

The Digger is perfectly suited to both heavy cover and open water fishing, especially in dense weeds, where we need to bait right up to the root; in these cases I do not play it too close to the vest, using generous 20lb fluorocarbon lines and important flipping hooks.

Extracting fish inside these covers becomes tremendously simple, and thanks to its particular action, we have the absolute certainty of not tearing the mouth of the fish, which is very common in rods in this range.

I have used it exclusively with jigs and heavy texas, where I believe it gives its best, but it can also be used with big baits and big slow-rolling spinners.
